How to Buy from YES24 from Overseas: Books, Albums and Why Tickets Are Different (2026 Guide)

Yes, YES24 sells and ships to buyers outside Korea. It runs an English global store at global.yes24.com, and its Korean site offers overseas delivery by DHL, EMS or FedEx with the fee calculated at checkout. The limits are the global store's smaller catalog, strict no-change rules after ordering, and import charges that you pay yourself. Concert tickets run on a different system entirely. This guide explains each route, the won prices on YES24's side, and where a purchasing agent helps.

What YES24 is and why overseas shoppers use it

YES24 is one of Korea's largest online bookstores. Like its rivals it has grown beyond books into music, video, stationery and performance ticketing.

For readers, the draw is range: Korean-language books in every category, sold at the same legally capped discount as everywhere else.

For K-pop fans, YES24 matters for two reasons. Its album sales are counted by the Hanteo and Circle charts, and it hosts store-specific preorder benefits such as photocards that differ from other stores' versions.

The third reason people land on YES24 is tickets. YES24 Ticket sells seats for many concerts and fan meetings in Korea. That part of the business follows different rules from shopping, and we cover it in its own section below.

Can you buy from YES24 directly from overseas?

Often, yes. There are two direct routes, and they are not the same store.

Route A: the global store (global.yes24.com)

The global store has an English interface and is built for overseas delivery. Signup is by email: you fill in the form, receive a verification mail and confirm within a week. Its FAQ lists PayPal, Alipay, WeChat Pay and credit or debit cards as payment methods, and EMS and DHL as shipping options. Orders normally ship within five business days, and the customer is responsible for customs.

It also sets firm rules. Orders cannot be combined, and after an order is placed nothing can be edited, including the address. If a parcel is returned, the international shipping fee is not refunded, only the item price. Refunds take 15 to 20 days through Alipay and 20 to 30 days through PayPal. Albums bought during a fan-sign event cannot be refunded once the event period ends.

The catalog is narrower than the Korean site. Albums and fan-oriented items are well covered. The deep book catalog, stationery and many store-exclusive versions are not always there.

Route B: the Korean site (yes24.com) with overseas delivery

The Korean help center says overseas shipping is charged by weight in 500 g steps. You pick DHL, EMS or FedEx and the destination on the order page and the fee is calculated automatically. Only products marked [해외배송가능] (haeoe baesong ganeung, overseas shipping available) on their detail page can be sent abroad. Any tax or clearance fee charged by the destination's customs is the buyer's to pay.

Free gifts are split. Point gifts, online gifts, CD and DVD bonus items and magazine supplements can ship overseas. Event gifts that you choose and gifts attached to books cannot.

Signup is more open than at most Korean stores. The signup page offers an "overseas resident" member type next to the general one. The default verification is a Korean mobile phone or i-PIN, but the page states that people who have neither can sign up with SMS or email verification. Everything is in Korean, and we could not confirm that foreign-issued cards work at the Korean checkout.

Where direct buying stops

• Items sold by third-party sellers on YES24 follow each seller's shipping policy.
• Products without the overseas-shipping mark cannot be sent abroad from the Korean site.
• Preorders with a version or benefit choice cannot be fixed after ordering on the global store.
• You cannot combine a YES24 order with items from another store.
• Import duty and tax are collected from you on arrival.

Three ways to buy from YES24

	1. Direct (global store or Korean site)	2. You buy, we ship (package forwarding)	3. We buy for you (HaulKorea)
Who orders	You	You, to a Korean warehouse address	HaulKorea
YES24 account needed	Yes	Yes	No
Catalog	Global: partial. Korean: full, in Korean	Full	Full, except what we cannot handle
Free domestic shipping threshold applies	Not relevant	Yes	Yes
Combine with other stores	No	Yes	Yes
Duty for US buyers	You pay on arrival	Depends on the forwarder	Included in the price
Payment	Card or PayPal on YES24	Card on YES24, then forwarding fees	PayPal, once
Tickets	Buy yourself on YES24 Ticket	No	No

Buy direct if the item is on the global store and you only want YES24 items. This is often the simplest route for one or two albums.

Use forwarding if you can register and pay on the Korean site and want to merge several stores into one box.

Use a purchasing agent if the item is only on the Korean site and you cannot get through signup or payment, or you want one total with no charge at the door. The trade-offs are laid out in purchasing agent vs package forwarding.

How to order from YES24 with HaulKorea, step by step

1. Open the product on yes24.com. Use the Korean site, since it has the full catalog.
2. Copy the product address. 3.4. Pick the option. For albums, state the version and whether you want a random or specific cover. Add your destination country.
3. Review the total. It includes the item, YES24's domestic shipping if any, and international shipping.
4. Pay once with PayPal. No later top-up. If the real weight is lower than the estimate, the difference in shipping is refunded.
5. Get inspection photos once the order reaches our Korean warehouse.

What it costs on YES24's side

Domestic shipping. YES24's shipping fee notice sets ₩2,500 per order, free from ₩15,000 for books and foreign books, and free from ₩20,000 for CDs, LPs, DVDs, Blu-rays and stationery (as of October 2026). Marketplace sellers on YES24 set their own fees.

That threshold matters with an agent or forwarder: one ₩13,000 paperback pays ₩2,500 to reach a warehouse in Korea, and two ship free.

Book prices. Korea's fixed book price system, 도서정가제 (doseo jeonggaje), limits discounts on new books to 10% of list price, with up to 5% more in points, for a combined maximum of 15%. This comes from Article 22 of the Publishing Industry Promotion Act and has applied in its current form since November 2014. The practical result is that a new book costs about the same at YES24, Aladin and Kyobo.

Category	Average list price of 2025 new titles
All categories	₩19,897
Literature	₩15,784
Children's	₩14,503
Comics	₩7,098
Language	₩20,520

Source: Korean Publishers Association statistics for 2025, reported May 2026.

Real prices, checked October 5, 2026. The top-selling novel, a new hardcover, was ₩16,650. A paperback classic was ₩7,200. The four best-selling CDs ranged from ₩19,000 to ₩35,600. Best-selling stationery was small: a fridge magnet at ₩900 and a book clip at ₩2,500.

YES24's overseas shipping. No flat rate is published; it is computed at checkout from carrier, country and weight in 500 g steps. Because it is weight-based, it tends to beat Kyobo's per-book pricing once you order more than one or two books.

What to buy on YES24

• K-pop albums with YES24 preorder benefits. The benefit, usually a photocard, is specific to the store and the preorder window.
• LPs and limited pressings. Sold in fixed quantities. They sell out and are fragile in transit.
• Korean fiction and essays. Literature averages about ₩15,800 list.
• Webtoon and manhwa print editions. About ₩7,100 per volume on average.
• TOPIK and Korean study books. Language titles average about ₩20,500.

Expect roughly ₩19,000 to ₩36,000 for a CD album, based on the bestseller list in early October 2026. Special editions and LPs cost more.

Why concert tickets on YES24 are a different matter

Many people searching for YES24 want tickets, so this needs to be clear: HaulKorea does not buy tickets, and a purchasing agent is the wrong tool for them.

YES24 Ticket's English FAQ explains why. Tickets are tied to the person:

• The global ticket site needs its own account. A regular YES24 ID does not carry over.
• Some shows are open to verified members only. Verification uses a physical foreign passport and face recognition, and YES24 advises finishing it one to two days ahead.
• At the venue you show your passport and booking confirmation. The account name must match the passport.
• Tickets cannot be picked up before the day of the show.
• Credit cards need 3D authentication. PayPal is allowed only when the show is 180 or more days away.
• Cancellation fees rise as the date approaches, up to 30% of the price one to two days before.

A ticket bought by someone else in their name will not get you in. If you want to see a show, register on YES24 Ticket's global site yourself and complete verification early.

Things that go wrong, and how to avoid them

Preorder benefit ends. Photocard benefits are tied to a preorder period and to stock. Ask for a quote early and say that the benefit is the reason you are ordering.

Wrong album version. Many albums come in several versions with similar names. Give the version name exactly as shown on the product page.

A preorder delays everything. A box waits for its slowest item. Keep preorders and in-stock items in separate requests, or use consolidation to hold items and send one box later.

Region-locked discs. Korean DVDs and Blu-rays may not play on your player. The region is printed in the product details.

Surprise charges on direct orders. YES24's global FAQ says buyers pay customs and import fees on receipt. For the US it notes a tariff based on the value of goods, in effect since August 29, 2025. Budget for it, or use a route where duty is prepaid.

Chart counting through an agent. YES24's album pages carry the Hanteo and Circle chart logos with a note that sales are reflected in their counts. We could not confirm how a purchase made through an agent is treated. Do not order through us on the assumption that it counts.

Outdated tariff note. When we checked on October 5, 2026, the global store's FAQ still told US buyers to expect a 15% tariff, a figure dated August 29, 2025. US rates have changed since.

Returns, exchanges and customs

On the Korean site, product pages give a return and exchange window of 10 days from dispatch, with return shipping paid by the customer for a change of mind and charged per box. Opened CDs, LPs, DVDs, comics and magazines cannot be returned. Some directly imported albums and gifts carry a cancellation fee of up to 30%.

On the global store, orders cannot be changed after they are placed. For returned international parcels, the FAQ says only the item price is refunded, and shipping is deducted when the return is the buyer's doing.

When an agent buys for you, the item goes to a Korean address first. A problem caught at the warehouse, such as a wrong version or a damaged box, can still be raised with YES24 under its domestic rules. After the parcel leaves Korea, a return is rarely worth the postage. Read our refund policy before you order.

Customs. Every country sets its own rules, and outside the US the recipient pays. For the US, the $800 duty-free allowance ended on August 29, 2025. Since July 24, 2026, a Section 301 tariff applies to most Korean goods, with a combined rate of 12.5% for products whose normal duty is lower, according to EY's summary of the USTR notice. The same summaries list informational materials as exempt, which has historically covered books and recorded music. Merchandise packed with an album may be treated differently. HaulKorea's US shipments include duty in the price. More detail is in our US import duty guide.
