How to Buy from W Concept Korea from Overseas (2026 Guide)

By HaulKorea · Last checked 2026-10-05

It depends on which W Concept you mean. The global site, wconcept.com, takes foreign payment and ships from Korea to more than 44 countries. The Korean site, wconcept.co.kr, is a separate store for shoppers in Korea and does not ship abroad. This guide explains how the two differ, when the global site is enough, and how to order from the Korean one if the piece you want is only listed there. Facts were checked in October 2026.

What is W Concept and why shoppers want it

W Concept grew out of an online fashion unit of a large Korean trading company and became an independent business in 2008. Its focus from the start was Korean designer labels: small studios making their own patterns, not resellers of wholesale stock.

That focus is why the site matters. For many Seoul womenswear labels, W Concept was the first major retail channel and is still their main one. The house label, Front Row, began in 2009 as an in-house project supporting young designers and now sells tailored basics under its own name.

In April 2021, SSG.com, the e-commerce arm of the Shinsegae retail group, signed a deal to buy W Concept, reported at about ₩270 billion. In September 2025 W Concept closed its shops inside Shinsegae department stores and said it would concentrate on online and overseas sales.

The tone of the store is different from Musinsa or the app-based marketplaces. Prices are higher, the photography is editorial, and the customer is typically a woman in her late twenties or thirties buying a blazer for work. If you want streetwear, see our Musinsa guide. If you want low prices and fast trends, see Zigzag.

Can you buy from W Concept directly from overseas?

The global site: check it first

W Concept has sold abroad since 2016. For years US shoppers used a dedicated US store at us.wconcept.com. That site has closed; a notice on a major review platform states that the company's US website is no longer operating. The current international storefront is wconcept.com.

W Concept relaunched this global site in September 2025 with Japan as its main Asian market. It added Japanese search and customer service and widened payment options to include Google Pay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay and Alipay.

According to the global site's shipping and return pages, as of October 2026:

  • It ships within the US (excluding Alaska, Hawaii and US territories) and to 44 other regions, including Canada, the UK, Australia, Japan, Singapore and much of the EU. It does not ship anywhere else.
  • For the US, shipping is $12 and free at $150 or more. Europe is €15 and free at €130; the UK is £12 and free at £120.
  • Customs duties and sales taxes are calculated and collected at checkout.
  • Estimated shipping periods are 5–11 business days for standard items, 10–20 for pre-order items and 17–24 for made-to-order items.
  • Returns must be requested within 7 days of delivery. From the US, a $12 return fee is deducted, and if the order drops below $150 after the return, the original $12 shipping fee is deducted too. Duty and VAT are not refunded.
  • Some things cannot be returned at all: beauty, home items, underwear, pierced jewelry, anything discounted 50% or more, and items under $50.
  • There are no direct exchanges. You return and reorder.

You do not need a purchasing agent if your item is on wconcept.com, your country is on the list, and your order clears the free-shipping line. Order there.

Where the global site falls short

  • Not every product is listed. The global site is a selection. A brand may be on both sites while a specific color, restock or sale price is only on the Korean one. We have not measured how large the gap is.
  • Korean-site promotions do not apply. Coupons, member-grade discounts and timed sales belong to wconcept.co.kr.
  • The return terms are tight. Seven days from delivery, with a fee, no duty refund and a list of non-returnable categories, leaves little room.
  • Country list. Outside the 45 listed destinations there is no international shipping.

The Korean site: where it blocks you

W Concept Korea says so itself. Its FAQ answers the question "can you deliver overseas?" with: W Concept Korea handles domestic orders and delivery only, and customers living abroad should use the global site.

The second wall is 본인인증 (bon-in injeung, identity verification). The Korean FAQ states that after signing up, by email or social login, you must complete mobile identity verification before your first order. It collects your name, mobile number, date of birth and gender, and one phone number can verify only one account. Customer service is by phone in Korean, weekdays 9:00–18:00 Korean time.

Three ways to buy from W Concept

Direct (wconcept.com) You buy, we ship (package forwarding) We buy for you (HaulKorea)
Which catalog Global selection Full Korean site, if you can check out Full Korean site
Korean account and card Not needed You need both Not needed
Korean-site sale prices No Yes Yes, the price on the product page at purchase
Total known before paying Yes No Yes, one payment
Returns after delivery 7 days, $12 fee from the US, duties not refunded You arrange it in Korean Problems caught at inspection in Korea
Best for Listed items over $150 People with a Korean card and phone Korea-only pieces, unserved countries, mixed-store orders

Direct is the right call for most first-time buyers in a served country.

Forwarding only helps if you can already pay on the Korean site.

A purchasing agent is for the piece that exists only on wconcept.co.kr, or for an order that mixes W Concept with 29CM and other Korean stores into one shipment.

What it costs

On the Korean site, each partner brand prepares and ships its own orders, and each sets its own shipping fee. The FAQ notes that even one brand may ship separately from different warehouses. The fee and conditions are in the summary box on each product page.

On the global site, the line to remember for US shoppers is $150. Below it you pay $12 shipping; above it shipping is free, with duties and taxes collected at checkout.

What to buy on W Concept

Prices are in Korean won, as of October 2026. Front Row prices are what we saw on the Korean site on October 5; the rest are typical ranges.

  • Front Row. The house label. List prices ran from ₩139,000 for a cashmere cardigan to ₩699,000 for a handmade coat. On sale, trousers were ₩95,360, blazers ₩140,160–178,560 and blouses ₩89,400.
  • Tweed and tailored jackets from Seoul labels. Around ₩200,000–280,000 at list price.
  • Designer denim. Wide and low-rise cuts at ₩64,000–125,000.
  • Dresses. Day dresses from small labels at roughly ₩100,000–250,000.
  • Korean bag labels. Leather shoulder bags and totes, usually ₩150,000–400,000.
  • Shoes from Korean makers. Loafers, ballet flats and boots at ₩100,000–300,000, sized in millimeters.
  • Occasion wear. Wedding-guest dresses and two-piece sets are a W Concept strength, mostly ₩100,000–350,000.

Things that go wrong, and how to avoid them

Made-to-order lead times. Designer labels often produce after orders close. The product page carries a notice such as 주문제작 (jumun jejak, made to order) or 예약배송 (yeyak baesong, pre-order shipping) with a dispatch date, and search results can be filtered to exclude pre-order items. W Concept's own global estimates give a sense of scale: 10–20 business days for pre-order and 17–24 for made-to-order.

Korean women's sizing. Sizes 44, 55, 66 and 77 are Korean ready-to-wear sizes, not European ones. As a rough guide, 55 sits near a US 4–6 and 66 near a US 8, but brands differ. Go by the 실측 사이즈 (siljeuk saijeu, measured size) table in centimeters: shoulder, chest, sleeve, total length.

Shoes. Sizes are in millimeters and often in 5 mm steps. Korean lasts tend to be narrower. Read the size note on the page, which often says whether the model runs small.

Sold-out options. Designer runs are small. Give a second choice or tell us to cancel that line.

Split shipments. Because each brand ships separately, a three-brand order arrives at the warehouse over several days. Ask HaulKorea to hold everything and send one box.

Restricted items. Perfume and some beauty items sold on W Concept face air-shipping limits.

Returns, sizing and customs

On W Concept Korea the return goes back to the partner brand. The FAQ explains that for a customer-initiated return, the return shipping fee is deducted from the refund, the amount depends on the reason and the return method, and remote areas cost more.

With HaulKorea, the item is delivered to the Korean warehouse first. A wrong size shipped by the brand, a defect or a missing piece can be dealt with inside the Korean return window. Once the parcel has been exported, a return is slow and expensive. Compare that with the global site's terms before choosing: 7 days after delivery abroad, a $12 deduction from the US, and no refund of duty or VAT.

Customs depends on where you live. For US orders with HaulKorea, duties are included in the price, so nothing is due at the door. For every other country, duties and taxes are not included and are paid by the recipient under local rules.
